Huw Gareth Jones

Mae'r mor a'r mynydd yng ngwaith HUW GARETH JONES, yr arlunydd a fagwyd yn Nyffryn Conwy. Mae bellach yn byw uwch Traeth Borth-wen, Ynys Gybi, ac mae golau a chysgodion, patrymau caeau a chymylau, gwreiddiau a pherthyn yn themau cyfoethog yn ei luniau. Mae ei baentiadau dramatig a lliwgar yn 'cyfleu teimladau am lefydd ac yn trio mynegi syniadau y tu hwnt i iaith'.

The sea and the mountains play an important role in the work of HUW GARETH JONES, the artist who has his roots in Betws y Coed in Dyffryn Conwy. He now lives above Traeth Borth-wen on the southern shore of Holy Island, Anglesey, his door open to the weather and the seasons. Light and shade, field and cloud patterns, roots and belonging are rich themes in his paintings. His colourful and dramatic work 'communicate a sense of place and attempt to articulate ideas beyond language'.
